Girls Cross Country

Coach Grimes grew up in Oakwood, Ohio and attended Oakwood High School.  He participated in Cross Country, Basketball and Track all four years.  His PRs in track were:  Mile-4:54, half-mile 2:01 (both on a road stone track). 

Coach Grimes attended Anderson College earning a BA in Mathematics and Purdue University earning an MS degree in Mathematics.  He competed in Cross Country for 3 years.  He continues to enjoy running long distance races with the favorite being the “24 hour”.  His PR for 24 hours is 125.9 miles placing 8^th overall at the National Championship race in 1993 and earning a 3^rd place bronze medal for his age division.

This is Grimes' eighth year of being the Girls NCXC Head Coach.  In the past seven seasons, Grimes' teams have qualified for the Regional meet six times and qualified for the Semi-State meet twice.  Grimes has coached four All-NCC athletes (Jessica Stewart, Ashton Utt, Claire Hinshaw, Jordan Warner).
