Ron Baker - Assistant Coach

Coach Baker is a graduate of Yorktown High School and Ball State University: where he received a wrestling scholarship. In 1979 he received the prestigious Mumby Award. In 1983, Baker was a Mid - American Conference Wrestling Champion for Ball State and was also named Co-Outstanding Wrestler of the MAC Tourney.  Baker has coached football for 18 years, baseball for one year, and softball for five years, wrestling for 10 years, and this marks his fifth season as an assistant coach with the girls basketball program. He has coached AAU basketball for four years, girls’ optimist basketball for four years and youth softball for the past 10 years. He and his wife, Joni, who is a legal secretary in the Henry County Prosecutors’’ Office, have four daughters: Marie (22), Courtney (19), Emily (16) and Stephanie (12).
